Clearing Ragwort before cutting hay.

Hi everyone I have just spoken to the Hay cutter who intends cutting the hay at our field on Monday week following the forecasted dry spell. There is some Ragwort growing in the hay that needs pulling up as its poisonous to live stock . To make it easier to cut the hay can anyone who is free on Wednesday come along to pull some out from midday onward ? It shouldn't take long and half a dozen of us could probably doit in 20 min or so . If we cant finish then it will have to be done on Sunday morning before any flying .

If you can come along please bring a spike or a fork to loosen soil around roots so as to totally remove the plant and we can then dispose of it safely later.

We are holding our September Swapmeet on Sunday 10th September this year at the Stickfast Lane Flying field.

Gates open at 9.00am for sellers, 10.00am for buyers. Entrance fees stay the same at £7.00 per boot, £1 for buyers and visitors. All profits go to our chosen charity, Air Ambulance, refreshments available as usual. Raffle and auction to be held at end of sale.

We will also hold a fun competition in the afternoon, one in which everybody, at any level, can join in and have some fun. Full details sent out on the Club news update email. If you don't get this, please let Gary Stammers know on 07910 958008.

We would ask the whole club to keep fingers crossed for good weather.
